It's been a crafty fall

The fall is always full of pumpkin carving contests around here. The last really good pumpkin we carved was for a contest in approximately 2002 and it was Tigger from Winnie the Pooh, that is telling as to what ages our children were when we carved it! Since then we have been happy with triangle eyes, nose and a jack-o-lantern grin. Until this year...

We got inspired by our World Series Champs, the St. Louis Cardinals! Claire found this pumpkin template on the Cards website and we went to town. All with adult supervision, of course.

With no school on Friday, we got inspired once again to tackle a fun kid-friendly project of Turkey Cupcakes. These were easy although a bit top heavy. I had to do the faces although Emma got in to doing the gobble. A pink squiggle is easily done!
And to top off my crafty Friday, I had been working on putting together a Craft Night for several of my friends who I know love to chat and craft and since I spend a lot of Friday nights alone, I figured Why not?! So 8 ladies came over to craft and did they ever bring supplies...

Audra, the CRAZY craft lady. BTW, the only crafter that left with a completely finished product! And like always, she got us laughing as soon as she came in the door!

They stayed until almost midnight and it was SO fun! The variety of crafts was huge. There were 2 sewing machines, bead making, needlepoint, spinning wool, garland making, mod podging, family tree making, earring making, etc. We had snacks and drinks and a whole lot 'O fun! Considering my bead garland project has an estimated completion date of Christmas '16, I think we will all be up for another crafting night real soon. If you are a crafter that I left out please let me know if you want to join in next time. I say the more the merrier. Just ask Amy. If you decide in the middle that you don't really want to work on your craft anymore, you just might find another person to work on it for you :)
