I have not posted in a while. I go through times where I just feel there is really not much to say. We are in our Fall routine and we are plugging along. The days are getting shorter and colder. The kids are sleeping later which makes our mornings very rushed. I still love coffee. I love Bali Blue Moon from Trader Joe's and I buy 2 cans at a time. We are in a breakfast food rut. We don't have much time in the morning and my kids are sort of tired of cereal. I refuse to do pop tarts and we are out of toaster strudels. Any ideas out there? Something that takes 5 min. tops and everyone will eat it? I stumped you with that, didn't I? Oh, and did I mention that Claire eats like a horse. She is growing so fast. None of her jeans from last year fit and she can eat a lot.
Home improvement continues to take over our older home. We finally got our house's drainage system improved so that we do not get water in our basement anymore. This is really big news because Scott and I both are really tired of trying to suck up Perler beads and yarn through the squeegee head of the shop vac. The "art center" is where we always got the water. I love how I said, "got the water", as if it will never happen again!! I am so hopeful. Now we are moving on to some sort of back yard landscape around our patio that is dog urine resistant. Any suggestions here? Can you tell I am really desperate in this post this evening?
Kids. Oh, yes...we do have 3. Emma lost one of her front teeth last week and she has the largest gap I have ever seen in a mouth. It is cute, but not as cute as when both of them are out. We are getting an extended family picture on Saturday for my grandparents 60th wedding anniversary and I wish they were both out instead of just one. Don't worry I won't resort to knocking it out although the thought did cross my mind. Even with her crazy gap Emma is still the cutest thing. Her birthday is Friday. She has been counting down the days. She still loves her stretchy pants and black patent leather mary janes. I will be sad when her style changes but for now, she just loves comfortable. She will learn soon enough that comfortable just doesn't cut it in the world of fashion.
We are also trying to make decisions about sports and activities for the winter. Why does this consume us so? Scott constantly reminds me he did not play any sports until high school and that most of his friends who had were burned out by their sophomore year. I don't want that. Plus I don't want to drive them everywhere all the time in 3 different directions. But I feel pressure to "find their thing". Can't "their thing" just be being a kid and having an apple with peanut butter on it after school?!
Tonight the girls went to BSF with Scott and Sam and I got to build a train track together. I can officially check bridge builder off the the list of potential someday jobs/careers for Sam. Don't do it Thomas. Don't take the bridge!
I hope to post some birthday pictures soon!
