A couple more fun photos

Here are a couple more photos that I wanted to fit on my last post, but it got too big. As I was taking the "trading card" photos of Claire, Emma had to pop in of course. How could I leave Miss photogenic out of the pics??!!

And this is my absolute favorite! As I was sitting watching Sam's game, Claire was begging me to take a picture with my camera. I don't really ever let her do things like that as I am really protective of that thing...especially when it has on it's big lens. However, I was tired and I gave in. She saw Sam was up to bat and went over to the opposite side to get a picture of him. Here is what she got!!! Can you believe that?! I think it is great! It is artistic and focused. I just might have to let her use my camera more often!

Get on your game face or at least SMILE!

Today was pretty much back to back softball/t-ball games with a little Girl Scouts event in-between. It was picture day too which is always fun! I am of course being sarcastic here because Claire's soccer photo is still sitting in my van. It has not even made it into the house yet. How sad is that? It could only dream of making it into a scrapbook or into a frame. Due to my inadequacies in this department and the fact that I have a pretty good lens, I opted to take my own photos today. I think they are better than any "trading cards" and I hope you agree.

Batter up! Sam got to bat 4 different times during his game today. For some reason today this initial swings were really low, more like golf, but he eventually got the hang of it. He played hard in the hot sun. He ran allover the outfield and really enjoyed the snack at the end! Daddy got to come in time to see his last time up at bat. It is spring turkey season for all of you non-hunting type people :)

The team: Sam is in the back row on the far left.
Swing! Claire's game was actually first with her pictures starting at 8:30 am on a Saturday!! Why don't these people call me! She had a great game with several good hits, an awesome attempt to catch a pop- fly that just popped out of her glove, and a couple outs at first base. She is really in to the game!

Claire's team: She is in the back row on the far right. Below is my "trading card". She looks like she has on her game face doesn't she??

That's it for now. It was a great day. After the games they were so hot we came home and turned on the sprinkler for them. They played in it for a long time. Water is so fun when you haven't gotten in it for a while! Baths don't count. Scott took them fishing this afternoon and I did some planting.

Clean rooms & T-ball

Today was another good day. It seems like I only blog on good days. Maybe that is good. I don't want to use the blog to complain. I don't want my children to have a lot of "grumpy mom" on record although we all know she exists. We have had awesome weather here. 70 degrees the last few days. That means I have been running more, my kids are worn out and sleeping better, and my dog is worn out too...all this = happy mom!

Happy mom had to clean today. It felt good. I cleaned both upstairs bathrooms, and 3 bedrooms. I wiped baseboards and pulled out a toothbrush for a few jobs. I love the feeling of a clean house. I very seldom have it, but I love it! I spent the most time in the girls' room. It is a pit. I collected several bagfuls of trash (things they will never miss). I cleaned their shelves, under their beds and Emma even noticed I set up the Barbie house. I didn't tell her that I played with the Barbie's and that she and Ken are in a fight (just jokin' I would never have time for that!) Someone once told me that when your kid's rooms are clean you should take a picture of them and tack them on for the kids to see so that when they are cleaning their rooms they will know what it should look like. I did that today. I will let you know if it works!

The cleaning took most of my morning. After school Sam had his first T-ball practice. He has been so excited about this. I went to get him a right handed glove today (since he is a lefty). He was so pleased to have his very own glove. Mrs. C is his coach and she is so fun and cool! Sam told me today that she is the only one that knows everything about baseball, except daddy! She has his respect! The practice was one hour. They learned the ready position, running and touching the bases, practice catching pop-flys, each got 2 turns at bat and learned how to throw. It was so cute. It was all boys in JK and Kindergarten. The out fielding was of course the highlight. Watching all of them run towards the ball, try to catch it and then wonder what to do with it. Claire was helping in the outfield for a little bit, but I had to pull her off because I thought she was stealing some of their thunder. Sam had so much fun. Tonight at church while eating his dinner he said, "Mom, I think that was a pretty good T-ball practice today." I nodded in agreement. He is so big :(

I will have to get some pics of the next practice.
